I just finished getting the link to "John and Raluca's story" working!
...I typed a few hours today to finish it + a headache afterwards! But i think its worth it! :)
John helped me with all the technical stuff...i came up with the idea and the drawing - it's also mine (from maybe a year ago- i drew it with an optical mouse right on my bed covers, i was using a laptop). John worked some time on getting that page working since i don't really know how to do all that! Thank you, John! You're awesome! :D I love the way it looks..heh
Maybe you'll be so kind to actually read all that stuff in there!.. :D And add some comments too, of course!
I'll also be updating the picture gallery!

Awesome stuff!!! Go on with Your blog.
P.S."a romanian gamer's blog"- that sounds NICE :)
great story...loved all the details and the little comments you put in there. :)
Great site. The smugmug link doesn't work though.
Very cool story. Actually, it was probably the best story of a couple meeting and getting together for the first time. Yeah, I was also surprised to find out that Mr. Romero personally answers his emails. I believe I sent him one a couple years ago with a couple of general questions and another one a month or two ago regarding some technical stuff. I am a computer science major at Kent State University and I had a couple of programming questions for him. And he replied, I am still very grateful for that.
salut! i am sitting on the computer late at night reading stories about my childhood heros from id soft and stumpled across your little fairy tale with john. it sounds really cute. :) i should be sleeping.. joining miruna, my romanian girlfriend, who is sleeping in the bed behind me. i am originally from germany and i met her in january in bucharest while i was travelling through. we are living in brussels together at the moment. find her on miruna.net and me at benn.org - good luck you two, si noapte buna
Hey, that's a nice story...
It's really nice to read that a love story which got started over the internet did not end with slaughtered girl or a suicide act...
I also follow up on Romero's news, but I started with Masters of Doom. I look at him as a rebel, a rebel I wish I can be !!!
Best of luck, and God Bless
Keep it coming, you are doing a great job!
great story, really enjoyed reading it. be interested to hear how you are finding living in america...
I really liked the story of John and you. It's amazing that you actually got together with the star that you had a crush on since a young age. That is really a hollywood dream come true. And also, it's the fact that you guys hit it off pretty well. Usually, when someone finds out how a famous person really is, many times they would get let down. In your case, both of you grew to like each other more. It just goes to show that there was a lot more going for you two.
I've been a fan of John since Quake 1. I just read that he left Midway and that you two will be able to spend some time together. As a veteran in the game industry myself, I know how it's like to be in crunch mode for E3 and for game deadlines. Family life takes a back seat (along with sleep and free time). So this could be a blessing in disguise for you two to finally be able to spend lots of time together free from other worries. I'd just like to wish both of you the best of luck and a long and happy marriage.

Thank you! :)
..And you're right about the crunch mode - you really don't have time for anything else during that period..I used to stay with him at work alot of times until 3-4am..But i guess THAT's "crunch mode"..
As for me getting to know John trough chatting online - that made me discover we had a bunch of stuff in common, and most important we have the same sense of humor. Then we both like game music and obviously games :) After he came visiting me in Romania it was the opposite of dissapointment - we matched really well and we had alot of fun together. I thought he's the only person to match me so much..
Anyway i wish you alot of good luck in life too & have fun!
@ Meinhard benn : i saw both of your site and i think they're cool - interesting pictures! ;)
Goodluck with your girlfrined! :)
Hi, Rhaluka
There's something magical in your sincere story. Thanx.
I can understand you - one day I met one of my girlfriends via online. She's from another city but there's no borders and distances in Internet :)
It was so emotional experience to us, when she came to my city, and I was late to the airport :)))
But It's wonderful how people can meet each other through distance to be together :))
I wish you a happy marriage!

Thanx! :)
Ain't it just funny that John Romero's webpage is called rome.ro? :D I mean the .ro domain standing for Romania. Dunno if you read these comments to "old" posts though. Anyway good luck to you!
I kinda read everything because i get the comments in my email too :D (and i'm really happy for getting so many positive comments)
John got his romanian domain way before we knew eachother so i think that's kinda weird and cool in the same time! :)
And the weirdest thing is he got it on the 26th january , the day we got married!! He noticed that after we got married... that's really weird! :D
Anyway good luck to you too and have fun there! :)
