Excellent! maybe you could get
mr. romero to make a doom boss monster similar to this. This would be the last enemy to fight in the map. It could throw fireballs and the middle finger launches rockets.
Also,I think it's great to keep playing classic games.
Doom still kicks ass

I like fun stuff in games...Even Doom had some funny surprises hidden in the game like dangerous dave hanged in a level and the wolfenstein secret level :> those were cool.

I'm glad you like my sassy robot!:) He's a keeper!

I think you mean Commander Keen in that Wolfenstein secret level. That was a great game in itself. I would like to see some sort of revitalization of that game.

Yea that would be a cool idea. :)I'm thinking about making a new improved map and put it on zdaemon or skulltag - i'll ask john to help me with that tho.
i haven't worked in the editor for a long time now tho..I just need to do it this days!
Btw John really wants to make some new maps and put them up on the net for deathmatch, so he'll make alot of doom fans happy! He's already been deathmatchin' alot on skulltag,dwango& ZDaemon..

I have dabbled in mapping, I personaly use Doom Builder (because texture alignment in 3d mode is a life saver) and XWE for adding custom graphics or sounds.

If you do get it going on Skulltag or ZDaemon I'll have to check it out :P

if u plan to make a multiplayer map, maybe there are too much dead ends...

For multiplayer maps, it's important to keep the players running all the time.

By the way I like the idea of the robot shape and the big rooms ;)

i just managed to find a Doom port for my Mac OS X. Unfortunately, they didn't set up network play so I can't battle my roomate on his linux box yet .... alas, I have fun with it. Reliving my youth (I was about 12 when I got Doom 2 for xmas back in the day)

Good lookin' map... are you planning on posting a link to it when you're done? I'd work on one, but neither Doom ports I have can load custom maps. The shareware Doom 2 takes too much effort to run to make it worth using.

all right, i just realized i practically wrote a novel. sorry!

Remembers me of a design I'd done for a FPS named XIII. It was involuntary but the top view layout actually really looked like a running dog @_@.
Agreed with Steff, less dead ends for multi =)

I need to play it now!

@Brad: my map sux i dont think i'll put it up , its really basic and boring :( the truth hurts!..
I need to make a cooler one but it pisses me off because i can't make tunnels and stuff - i need quake editor for that..
