Hey dudes.
I was looking at a DivX website when I saw VCD.
What is VCD and how does it work?
Only reason why I ask is that I'm looking for Mortal Kombat 1 (top ten favorite movies ever!). I used to own it on VHS but it was destroyed so I'm looking for it on DivX.
Anyone want to aid my search?
And what do you think of Mortal Kombat the movie in general. Why did the second movie suck?
-Thanks-

Also, the second one sucked because they knew they'd make money whether it was good or not.

LOL yur not going to be banned. VCD's are usually bought in asia. A VCD will only work with your computer not a DVD playere to my knowledge.

EDIT: ok I'm wrong they do work on DVD players.

VCD stands for "Video Compact Disc" and is a way for you to play a CD with music on it in the stereo then pop it in a DVD player and view the music videos.  Should work with any TV DVD player and you might need a special decoder for the comptuer, never tried it.

Yepp.. VCD in Asia was nearly what was VHS around here..
You could also convert the DIVX to SVCD. SVCD offers a better resolution than VCD and can also be played on most standalone DVD Players.
Or maybe you could directly get an VCD / SVCD image or the mpeg.
They all can be played on a computer, usually using a standard DVD Player software (Power DVD XP, Win DVD, ..)

Basically it's probably going to be a low-res' rip of a movie if it's on VCD. You can buy legit ones in the west, but most from Asia are pirated. There's a huge industry in VCDs and DVDs in parts of Asia, which would be illegal most other places. It's because of somewhat screwy copyright laws over there. DVDs are more common in the west, and that is what I would recommend you get.

Please don't link movie rips in here.

All my asian imports are under international law, though pirats can make a good film. A keen eye can spot out the most percise pirate.
