Well... downloading illegal MP3's kind IS the same thing as downloading games. I guess it's okay as long as you buy the CD's to the MP3's that you like, and commonly listen to.

My grandma wanted my sister to teach her how to download mp3's of gnutella. What's the world coming too?

Well, here is the way I see it:
I download MP3s and stuff (yes THAT! lol, no need to feel shamefull...it's natural to watch rofl.) but only from very old obscure stuff I couldn't hope to find in the shops or one song from an album (no sense paying lots for one song I like...) or as a 'try before I buy' kinda thing.

If I get half an album, like it, i'll go to the shops and buy the whole thing so file shareing progs actually helped me decide to contribute some money to the 'poor' music industry...

As for games, well if the game is some ye-old game then I don't feel bad, if the game was something from 3 or less years (roughly the lifespan of moneymaking on games really) then that would be bad - Romero even said himself that if you pirate games that are not his main income source he doesn't really mind - after all, if he isn't making money, why care. However HDB _IS_ his moneymaker and pirating that is both lame and mean. Maybe the pirates are members of the anti-romero online community - very lame people...

Yeah, I use Kazaa to download music.  But, it's still illegal, even if you own the CD or whatever.  Just like ROMS.  The Emulation community made the rule that you can only download it if you own the roms.  They also made the rule where you'd have to delete it in 24 hours.  This is completely false, they only do it to cover their asses.  Let's say you have a broken game.  If you download a rom, then it's still illegal even though you own the game because it's like getting a new copy for free.  Nuff' said.

ROMs are prefectly legal PROVIDED THEY WERE NOT MADE USING ILLEGAL COPYING TOOLS!!!!

If you copy a ROM from a legally owned cartridge using a generic ROM reader, you are well within the law for your 'backup' copy. So there

no fucking way would i dl hdb, no fucking way . i did a search for it as soon as romero made that post about pirated games to make sure that there werent any assholes who would pirate such a recent game.
