Well I use KazaA to download all my music and I dont fell guilty for doing it but then again there is alot of my stuff that I have that you can't get in the States like alot of the Drum and Bass I listen to is from the UK so its hard to get and cost lots of money. I will go out and by the CD of the bands that I do support and the same goes with video games.

are mp3s any worse than buying cds at a second hand shop? Other than excessive distribution that mp3s have going for them? assume you could abolish mp3 piracy tommorrow would all those people suddenly rush off down the shop and purchase as frequently as they now pirate? would they convert their mp3 collections to cds?  i would say no - the "masses" just can afford to... Record labels just want money thats not really there...

Auron I cound not agree with you anymore. MP3's are what keeping the Record Industry alive right now. Most of the band that I listen to I have dl from the net and then went out and bought the CD to support them

The idea is that if your CD is good enough, it usually won't end up in a second-hand shop.

The record industry was fine without MP3 pirating. MP3's aren't keeping it alive.

I'm not saying we should ban MP3's or anything. That would be stupid. People will just have to figure out ways to deal with them. As long as people keep buying real CD's, it'll be okay.
