Did any1 read this book?

How do you feel about the destiny of "the 2 Johns"? I have to admit I was pretty shocked at times (American Mc Gee's juvenile past...)

Since I finished this book, I have a different attitude to playing games from John Romero. I have read about his pst, and, well, it wasn't easy. This book is some kind of "making of" softdisk & id games and showing the human part of "the 2 johns".

Well, I'd love to see your reviews.

I think the word I used was "stunned".  I didn't cop an attitude toward Romero, Carmack or any of the others at id.  I copped an attitude toward Kushner...

One of the best books I have read, and very descriptive. They could've incuded pictures of the early days, but a great book nonetheless.

I found the subject material very interesting. Pity it was let down by a simplistic writing style.

I picked up the book on a whim the last time I was in the library and was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it.  I expected a somewhat boring book, but actually laughed out loud in parts (in a thai restaurant no less) and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Still gotta pick up a copy of my own one of these days.

For the record, it is available in Canada. I bought a copy at my local bookstore. Sure it was the hardcover, but it was well worth it.

As soon as the book came out in america, i really wanted to get it, so as it wasnt going to be in englan for along time, I ordered it via Border's bookshop who have a storehouse in america, it was hardback.

And the book kicks A$$!    well recommended.
