Yeah, I'm talking about the Jump 'n' Run game Metroid, first released on NES and later on the Gameboy. After that it was ported to SNES and later to the Gameboy Advance.
I'm not talking about Metroid: Prime, because it's no Jump 'n' Run   . And yes, every Metroid fan knows that this wasn't a simple Jump 'n' Run like Super Mario and friends.
So what did you intrigue about the Metroid games? Why did the game make us so addictive?
First I want to read about your opinions...later I'll write my comments

Non-linear, fast-action, ability-driven, shoot-em-up.

What's NOT to like?

Great GFX, Great choons, great games.

The next game always managed to keep the spirit whilst adding new stuff.

Metroid was the first game I ever got lost on. (I played it before Zelda    )

I've only played the snes metroid. Damn it was creepy    The game had a very nice atmosphere and it was really hard to beat! BTW cool thing you play as a female.

I own 'em all. Except the poratble versions, I never had a Gameboy until recently, and Metroid 2 is hard to find.

Yeah, I think you can't even buy it anymore. Good that there are emulators out there
