Hello guys,
I'm the founder and the coder of the XreaL project.
To correct some facts:
- the XreaL engine is called QRazor FX
- it's based on the Quake2 codebase version 3.21
- it's completely recycled in C++
- I really tried to avoid any code from Golk in it
- it's works completely different than these Q3A engine clones like Golk, Dusk, Q3Fusion or whatever
- the renderer is new and has some advanced techniques like per pixel realtime lighting in several modes using a unified lighting model like in Doom3
- XreaL will be a technology demo, a game implementation like baseq2 for the Quake2 engine
- the current version qrazor-fx3 is not compatible with Q3A assets anymore (kicked lightmaps support, some shader commands)

I like Daikatana and I wrote in the news of the project page that XreaL will become a Daikatana clone some day when it's finished. Just a small multiplayer only game that uses a few files of the demo.
I can't believe what Corbachu is talking all the time and I'm not in his team and I won't join it.
I think it's cool if someone wants to make a clone of a game. Many hobby programmers wrote clones of games they like and that's a good way to learn about the technology aspects. It's stupid to use the original name in the title and I don't want to repeat what Pyros and chiQ stated before.
I think the Dk2 project will die because it is completely misleaded and Corbachu does not care about legal stuff and other people's advices.
This thread is an example how much critics the Dk2 project will get if Corbachu will continue it.

Tr3B, thank you. That was well spoken and gives quite a bit of insight into your engine. I certainly wish you success with your engine.
