Does anyone remeber the bug in Dave where if you stand at just the right spot beneath a brick, you can jump up and "climb" the brick because your feet are kinda trapped inside the wall? That was very useful.
All those secrets like the Warp Zones, and the sneaky warped top/bottom of levels, that was very cool. It gave the game an even more surreal atmosphere.
The first time I got level 10, I ran out of Jetpack, panicked, and died horribly (I exploded from landing in the water... hmmm), mere PIXELS from the exit door! Arg!
But it wasn't long before I finally completed the game.

As for Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion, when I realised that the info for each level was stored in a separate filename, I just copied the file for level one into all the other filenames. Ten completions of level one later, I got to see how it all ended. (I am teh L33t haxor!)
I also used this technique to check out the other levels. Yikes, I would've never been able to finish most of them! But the original VGA Dave was better anyway, IMO.
