I also remember that it said in the Bible (Masters of Doom) that John Romero and John Carmack went to their room in Softdisk, had their own fridge, and played heavy metal

Al Vekovius was a co-founder of Softdisk and at the top of the food chain there.  I had an immediate boss named Jim Weiler who was Publisher while I ran the Gamer's Edge department.

And yes we had a massive refrigerator in our room (cost $200; used) and played lots of metal...Dokken, Bullet Boys, Metallica, Steel Heart, Led Zeppelin, etc etc...everything.

Metallica isn't the same since '91.  Load and Reload were nice, but they just didn't fit into the metal genre. Everything after Reload sort of..sucks.

Yeah, you know - i really like several Savatage songs but overall, if you listen to all their CDs, they got REALLY weak when their main dude left.  They went downhill.

Sirens, 24 Hours Ago, Beyond the Doors of the Dark, Strange Wings, Hall of the Mountain King...

Yeah, i knew it. You know good music. But John Oliva never left, he has left his vocalist position, but is back there. I liked Zak Stevens too.
I've seen them live twice. That is the fuckin best band. Their last cd is a bit dissapointing but the rest rules.

Tonight he grins again. My favorite song.

Im a fool. I heard the last Savatage CD seemingly with something in my ears. After i digged it out again i realy love it. Let alone "Morphine Child" is ...whoa theres no word to describe it.
