Have you played Enter the Matrix? What platform have you played it on (PC version will likely be drastically different and that's what I'm interested in, but I'm sure others would be interested in the console versions). Without giving away too much, what do you think of the game?

I can only speak for the PS2 version, but I was not very impressed.

The biggest problem is load times - they are basically far too frequent.

Slow mo kung fu on 10 guys, walk forwards, whoops it's loading time. Add infinitum.

Somewhat repetative too, as the kung fu is fun, but you end up with the same 10 or so combos/moves and you think 'yeah so....'.

You get guns, and you can dive around with them, but they aren't a patch on Max Paynes guns.

The game would have been twice as fun is loading was 'instant' (or as instant as a PC gets) but it would still be a 'stocking filler' type title.

It's like Blue shift was to Half Life IMO - Just a title too small to sell, but to big to give away.

It is crazy fun though, maybe you can bag a demo of it?

I've completed the game in about 4 hours on medium skill. But these 4 hours were so much fun. I own the PC version of the game and I really enjoyed the map design and storyline. The "hacking" of the Matrix is also an good idea and a nice addon to the basic game. The graphics are ok, not much eye candy, but the gameplay is more important for me. The animations are good, not brilliant, but much better than in the most other games. The AI is great, similar to Messiah's. Sounds, musics and videos are great. The german translation is very bad

"Ihr ganzer Fort sind gehören uns!"

(Chose 'fort', because normally, 'base' would return as 'lower surface'.    )

Edit: This post stinks.

Enter the Matrix didn't look all that impressive to me. If I was real into the movies and wanted to know more of the story I'd buy it, but I don't, and I have Max Payne.

It kicks total ass!!  It's waaaay more fun than Max Payne. Well,.. the gun fighting in Max Payne is better,... but I could do crazy kick ass martial arts forever and the wall running and all the cool flipping and stuff!!!

Crimony!! I posted this at lunch and kept checking but didn't see the replies... I ended up at my local software shop and looked it up, couldn't find a review and so I bought Freelancer (well reviewed). I'm going to have run out and buy it now... sounds pretty cool. Thanks everyone.

I'm going to hire it before I buy. It looks to me to be a console game rather than PC, which is good, as my PC won't be upgraded until October or so for Doom3, and I doubt it'd handle EtM right now

I should really pony up and buy a console. You're right, it looks much more like a Console game. I think all 3rd person games are probably best played on a console. For now I just have my PC and so I'll see how it runs. I haven't tried gaming on my TV yet, maybe now's the time try.

I was told that the fighting style was simplistic, but it has good graphics and it adds a bit more story to the Matrix:Reloaded tale.

Gamespot gave the PC version a 6.3 and all the console versions 6.4
I'm going to wait for the PC Gamer review I think, that or wait for it to go discount... that really blows... If anyone plays it on PC and likes it let me know.

Ah see I use reviews as a guide as to what I should hire, and then base my purchases on what I think of the hires. I've only once bought based on a review and regretted it.

Fort is no german word. Base = Basis (Basen  plural )

And yes it stinks.
