The moderator issue got me thinking, as did the swamping of gaming discussion in highly off-topic chat in the main forum. I came to the conclusion that the forum was unwieldy and somewhat in need of a rethink. I talked to John and he was happy for me to gut it, and here you see the results. I ask that all fluff stays in Open Discussion, and that you behave everywhere, even where we have no moderators listed at present - I am running those forums, so don't be thinking you can get away with anything while nobody is watching

Anyway, in all seriousness, I hope this works better, and if you have feedback please don't hesitate to discuss it in the new feedback forum. Things may change again, as I iron out wrinkles in the board, but here's hoping nothing too drastic happens!

FYI Open Discussion, the forum formerly known as General Discussion, now resides in the General section, about halfway down the main forum list.

Little harder to get around though, but good idea all the same. Only thing is, its was more neater to have the quake, doom, keen, hexen sections a hole different forums. It just takes a little getting used too.

ummm yeah. Lumping Quake, Doom, Hexen etc into one big ass "id Games" group kinda sucks. It was nice before because if I felt like discussing or reading posts about a specific game I could go to that forum. Now it's all just thrown in together.... me no likie!

Personally I like it because none of the specific game forums were highly posted and so you could simply go through the posts. I see your point, but there'll be a lot of catagories if you start splitting it up. Lets see what chiQ says.

When we were talking about this on IRC, I was hoping we'd just have one extra forum ("General Gaming" or something like that) right under General Discussion.
I logged on today, and *POW!*

*ugh* Well, I'll adjust, or die trying.

I'm not too happy with my beloved Quake forum being thrown in with Doom and other ID game to be honest. But, hey, that's progress.

Also "General Gaming Discussion" & "Open Discussion"? pffff

I dunno the problem with all the id games being thrown in together. It means that place will get more traffic and certain sections won't be dead frequently (how many posts were regularly put in the heretic and wolf sections....)

I think it's all very good, it's been out of order for ages (I thought it very messy ever since I joined) and the new catagorisation is a great step.

Hey, if we're throwing out ideas I think we should get a picture of dogs playing poker in a smokey room, who's with me?

Ahh its a nice change, I have to admit. The wolf section was dead anyway. PS2brain was asking me to say, is he still being considered for a mod job, I know me and him caused some friction. (mod job sounds so dirty   )
