Ok, I just read a comment on a topic earlier about how the Singleplayer aspect of the game was great but the Multiplayer was BAd. My question to you all is how many of you play a game only for the singleplayer aspect.  See I have never played a game singleplayer since DOOM! After I learned you could play against other players(modem to modem with Doom along time ago) I haven't played SP since. I only buy games that have MP capabilities. Thus basically only buying FPS games. So do all of you play sp too?

First of all, I am a multiplayer addict as well. However, there are excellent single player offerings I have played. I loved the atmosphere of System Shock 2, where you always 'almost' could save another human. And speaking of it's cousin by virtue of the same engine, the Thief series was quite a blast to play. I wish I had a vid clip of a guard who got within inches of me and practically looked me in the eyes but didn't notice. I think I actually held my breath IRL, too. Yes, Half-Life had it's moments, as did certain discovery, creepy moment in Undying. I'm not saying I don't log multiplayer hours, as it does take up the bulk of my time. I am saying there are some singleplayer jewels for the vigilant eye. But hell, that's just my opinion.

I... I can't play multiplayer anymore...
It's just that I get so violently angry every time I play, even when I am winning. I can't control my anger, it seems...

I'd better lay off the multiplayer for awhile...

i mostly (actually always) play single player games. And since i like FPS, i play old FPS like Duke Nukem, Blood (1 and 2), Doom, etc... because most new FPS doesn't give anything for single player gaming...

id says that Doom3 will be focused to single player experience. We'll see...

Man I hope not.....I am waiting for Doom3 and they better have a good MP game too.  I just saw that Unreal 2 is suppose to be out in February and I really hope they have a good MP or atleast coop. I use to play Duke Nukem 3D online on a gaming service called Ten.  They started to charge and I had to drop that. I loved playing that game.

i heard (thats just rumors) that d3 will have faster multiplayer than quake3.

and about the experience... well, i think that if you only count the extremelly realistic graphics, you'll have a game experience not seen before (and for long time, i believe). I'm almost sure that some people will get psycho by playing this game ;-)

Haha never. The engine's concept is that the player will take time to look around, that means that he looks at the shadow effects, enviroment etc. Furthermore I don't think that this engine can handle fast gameplay, maybe with r_picmip 10

I like both single-player, and multi-player. For awhile I had been playing multiplayer on my friend's server, but since his comp can't use the new version of Zdaemon, I haven't really had a chance to play a good game in awhile. Though we had planed to use DooM Connector, its been down for some time with no word when it will be back.

When it comes to shooters, I'm an exclusive SP-er. I love SP games, especially of the old-skool type - Duke, Blood, Quake 1&2, Sin, Unreal, Serious Sam.
I got UT for its botmatch, but that's all the DM-ing that I do. I love the idea of progresing through a game, getting newer and better weapons and seeing new enemies etc, so I'm totally SP-oriented.

I'm also a multiplayer addict, but as I never buy game, I would say I base myself on screenshots. I don't take any review to see which score it got, I base my  own opinion when I play the game. I guess what I like best while playing the game, Multiplayer or Single Player.

I rarely play a game more than one day:)
I almost always play single player at first, then give a try to multiplayer. Almost everygame I played didn't impress me in both way. I mean , like game developer don't include in a game what gamer REALY likes. A game can have aspect that we like, but alway have missing one that another game have. But to answer shortly the question "I play both"
