And one of the exec's said that when hardware stops flowing, so do the games. *sniff* That'd be the end of a 20+ year era. Stupid Sony.

The helix from tapwave (palm) is going to be great as well possibly even better then the psp and it's up for release this christmas.

pros: ATI 3d chipset + 8 mb video memory, 200 mhz motorola arm9 cpu, a rumble feature, an analog controler, 430x320 resolution, blue tooth and much more stuff ... and here's a screenshot of what the games should look like.

cons: it's a pda so it's expensive (300 dollars) and the design will probably be horrible as well

And SEGA was too.....but unfortunately, todays market is another. Gamers of today are different.
Put together some cool guy and a shiny grafix-engine with nice eye candys, mix it up with some top-ten music and ultra-violence.... et voila you have a top seller. Even without good gameplay or may without gameplay in general (Postal2).
Thats, what Sony/MS do. Medium quality shit in expensive amount. Thats the money-making-maschine of today.

SEGA R.I.P.
SNK R.I.P.
ATARI R.I.P ....and let them fuckin rest you infogrames assholes
NINTENDO hope you will survive...

Nintendo have been in the Video game industry the longest and do make a great quaility product. But like cybdmn said... Gamers today are different. It would be so much better for Companies that do make really good products if the industry stopped turning into a trend thing... Like for example. Microsoft and Playstation are doing so well because they "whats cool". Anyone who I talk to almost doesn't like Nintendo for their own imature reasons. You have your stupid groups of people that swear ps2 is better then the lot and the people who swear xbox is better. But really Its not about the console. Its about the games. When it comes to handheld systems Nintendo make a great product and it isn't up until the last couple of years that some real competition has been introduced. Nintendo's so called "problem" of being late behind in releasing consoles is a result of all the fine tuning etc they do.... Look at Microsoft they pumped out Xbox in a very short period of time, and all it is in a PC in a box running a Stripped down version of Windows 2000.

All consoles are computers not matter how you look at it. I have to say is that Sony will not be able to crack the handheld market at all. The GameBoy is the number one selling "console" in the world and its not stoping anytime soon. Nintendo has sold even more with the new GBA:SP. As for crap games coming out and qual. gone I hate to say it I am big fan of old school SEGA and nothing good in my op. has come out from them in a long time since the Genesis days. The only games I like from Nintendo was Chrono Trigger/Metroid/Kid Icurus

There was a time that the Atari 2600 owned the console market. All good things must come to an end. It's true that the Game Boy is number one but If sony can pull out the technology and the developer contracts they could actually carve out a market for themselves. the GBA is still built on old (although miniturized) technology. If Sony builds it's technology on the newer micro conductor processors then they could have a better unit... and who doesn't want a better unit?

The GBA and the GB aren't leaving anytime soon, but they could have a significant section of their market share taken away.
