If the controls are anywhere near as smooth as Halo's were, I'm not worrying.

It had an aim assist which glided towards your target when your crosshairs were an inch away, making things easier and less frustrating. No auto-aim in the sense of "I'll shoot you out of the corner of my eye," so it's all good.

Half-Life had an autoaim system like that, so i'm sure it'd carry over (autoaim sucks anyway)

yepp.. most Half-Life (PC) servers deactivated it. But on a console there's not other way then playing shooters with auto aiming. I think it would not disturb me that much in single player mode (must admit that I have not yet played any ego shooter on console..).
Dealing about multiplayer I can't imagine that I would like it. At least Counter Strike will need a lot of redesign.. keeping that you're dead just after a few hits in combination with auto aiming.. uhuh..
Anyway.. the screenshots look quite nice

The screens look good, but I only play shooters with a KB and mouse. I like to be in total control.

xboxs flaw i can point out right now are those fat controllers.  If i ever get one i'm going for the skinny ones.

Heh, I think I'm of the .1% of the population that likes the larger controllers.  The smaller ones, ps2 controllers, etc hurt my hands pretty quickly.  Dunno if it's because of how tense I can get while playing (thereby putting a lot of stress on my hands) but after a while on the smaller controller I'm bound to be hurting.  Larger controllers, not a problem all day at work on those things.  Can't grip as hard or twist my wrists quite so much. Means there are always controllers available for me at work, since on one wants the beasts.

Some games are impossible with the large controllers.
