Sylphis looks good.

Personally (you'll think I'm nuts), I'd use Quake 2.

But that's really because I have two ideas:

1. Write a Dark clone and a Thief clone.
Which will be hard. Dark can handle up to 300 parameters for an object.

2. Create something similar to Outrage's Fusion (Descent 3). No organics - just machines. BOOM! CRUNCH!
