I picked up an N64 last week, and somehow ended up with another one.  So I get a bunch of games for it that I used to have, even though they weren't very good.  Games like shadows of the empire, cruisin' usa, etc.  I had to look REAL hard for doom 64, which is probably my favorite port of the game.  Even though I can only play it at night time because the game is so dark.

So yeah, all in all I spend nearly 200 bucks on getting various things (50 on the second n64 i bought which came with an expansion pack and about 10 games).  I had to get extra controllers for goldeneye as well.

What happens this week?  My friend sells me a Dreamcast really cheap.  So what do I do?  I go out and buy more vmu's and some games for it.  I had never owned a DC before so I didn't know exactly what to get.  I did end up with a number of fighting games as well as worms armageddon and bust a move 4.  I am completely amazed by this system.  the visuals are so crisp.  the Ps2 does a way worse job of anti-aliasing.  It really makes me sad that this system went under.  the VMU's were quality and should be implemented in some form or fashion into the next gen systems.

I was REALLY close to buying a saturn the other day as well, but i declined since the guy wanted outrageous prices for his games.  I think my next console acquisition will be a 3DO.

Some of you may ask why I bought these.  It's simple.  Much like music, I can relate video games to a particular time in my life.  The 64 reminds me of my junior-senior years of high school, staying up late playing goldeneye and wcw/nwo world tour with friends-which carried on into my college years whenever I would come home for the weekend.  The DC is fond to me because of a friend who had one at college.  We would sit and play worms for hours.

The down side of the whole thing is that I have to find room for the Dreamcast in my living room.  I had everything arranged perfectly until it game along.  Heh.

Cool, old consoles rock.

You really should have gotten a Saturn.  It's an amazing system, the only downside being that the really great games are now pretty expensive.

I wish my firend would sell me his Saturn. He mabey only played it for 12 hours. And I wouldn't call DOOM 64 a port.

I too like old consoles. For some reason I have three NES that don't work. I think the NES may be the most fragile system (Disregarding the PS2) ever made.

Yeah you're right.  Doom 64 really isn't a port.

Ok, back to marvel vs capcom 2 =D

That's awesome, I own two Dreamcast systems.  It reminds me of my freshman college days ... while everyone was dropping mad cash into the pathetic PS2 launch ... I was getting the Dreamcast on its way out.  Some games you need to find are:
- Soul Calibur
- Dead or Alive 2
- Cannon Spike
- Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
- Ferrari F355 Challenge
- Phantasy Star Online ( this game will never be experienced again on Dreamcast the way it was when seganet was huge and the servers were full)
- Metropolitan Street Racer
- Skies of Arcadia
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 (best port)
- Resident Evil: Code Veronica

Good thing for you is ... a lot of these made it to the PS2 so if you can't "find" them for DC...

On a side note, if there's an RPG that's as good as Chrono Trigger in my opinion, it's Skies of Arcadia.

It's available on the Gamecube nowadays, btw.

I used to have a Jaguar with Aliens vs Predator and Doom. Ahead of its times and yet managed to create amazingly boring enviroments.

I really want my 3DO back.  I got rid of it in one of my many moves, and have regretted it ever since.  I miss the 3DO version of Road Rash so damn much.

N64 kicks ass. 8)

Last year I started looking for N64 games. Everywhere I went they were under $10 each. Awesome.

BTW, I think all games should be under $10. :)

I remember playing Cruisin' USA and Goldeneye a lot.
And I also remember my cousin having a Sega Saturn. I played Virtua Fighter on it.
But he ended up selling or breaking it I think.

I LOVE MY 32X!

Virtua Racing Deluxe, Shadow Squadron, Motocross Championship, and Knuckles Chaotix FUCKING RULE!

I'm getting a Sega CD 2 from a buddy at school with a pristine copy of Sonic CD next week.  Can't wait, I've been wanting one since 1998.

I just got Daikatana for the N64. It's pretty cool, but not near as good as the PC version.
