I must say,.. the hype is well deserved.  I've been multiplaying my butt off.  The launch titles are awesome.  I can't wait for that FPS that's coming out for it and that game called Death Jr.  I'm already loving Untold Legends and Twisted Metal and  Metal Gear Acid. ( It's weird,.. but awesome. )
And there are actually people around who have one that I can multiplay with.  I hang out at a comic book store that also sells more videogames than EB Games and we have huge  6 person deathmatches and stuff.   It's like having a PS2 in my pocket.
We've also been trading some crazy MPEG4 video files like crazy.  Funny and twisted cartoons and stuff that people download off the net.
I still have my DS,... I'd be crazy to give that baby up,... but there's no one around here to multiplay with,.. so I just use that for solo games.

I can't wait until I get mine. :)  By what I've seen, the hype does in fact seem well-deserved.  Finally, a handheld system targetted mainly toward an older-teen+ audience.

i think consoles are expensive here  due to the tax rates and other nessesary payments .:( But I am saving for ps3 . What I would like to see with PSP is the possibility to hook it up to a tv :D (that be awsome) and two player splitt screen from the same . (too much to ask for every friend to have a psp ) .

chubz got a point there :P

I wish the psp could be used as a ps2 controller though, so if you went to a friends house, you would always have a controller with you 8)

I find myself polishing the PSP every day after it gets covered in nasty fingerprints.  I treat that thing better than my car. My car looks like a big dirt stain.

It just feels really good in your hands, yaknow?

I'm not planning on gettin a PS3 or an XBox 2 or the new Nintendo whateverthehellit'scalled.
The PSP and DS will serve as my "new" systems from now on.  If the launch titles are this good,.. you know it only gets better from here.  And  the handhelds are  the ONLY ways i can play multiplayer since broadband isn't available in my area.
The PSP is the first handheld that I actually play more than a home console.

No problems at all.  I have yet to run into anyone in my town who had any problems with it.  No button sticking either.   I think the defects are more rare than people say.  I'd say it's about 1 out of every 100.

Right after I payed for mine I took it out of the box and put the battery(it's about half-charged right out of the box) in and set it up (username, timezone, etc) just to see if  I had any dead pixels.
When playing any game you can push the HOME button to check how much power you have left  and you can also just exit the game and go back to the main menu without turning it off  or reseting it. (something the PS2 should've had)
In the main menu you can even go into a battery info screen and it 'll tell you how many hours and minutes of power it has left,.. as well as the charge percentage.
The battery lasts about an average of 8 hours with me.
like the DS, if the battery is real low and you wanna play without waiting for it to charge,..(takes about 2 hours) you can use the charger cord as a normal power cord. It'll charge very slowly at the same time.

It comes with a 32 megabyte memory stick thats smaller and thinner than a freakin' Wheat Thin cracker.   I got a 256 mb stick right now,.. but they have a 1gigabyte stick you can get if you really wanna store lotsa video files and mp3s and jpegs and savegames at the same time.

You can connect it to your PC with a usb cable to do all the file swapping.

oh yeah,...  in the multiplayer modes,... you can either do PSP to PSP type connections,.. or you can somehow do a LAN type setup where there's a central wireless hub or something.    So far, in the launch titles, the most people that can multiplay in a game is about 8 people.  It depends on the game of course,... but  I wonder how many PSPs can really network together.
Untold Legends,.. which is a sort of Diablo meets Gauntlet type hack n' slash supports up to 6 people playing together.   It's fun fighting over who gets the really badass weapons and armor and stuff,.. or splitting up into 2 teams of 3 and trying to see which party can clear the area of monsters first.
I soooooooo can't wait for that FPS to come out.  Gonna be some wireless portable 128 bit fraggin going on!

I get my PSP at the end of this month!  I can't wait!  :D

P.S. If you get any scratches on your PSP, just return it and say it had dead pixels / was defective / etc.  Launch flaws.. That would probably work.. but just make sure you don't try the same thing on the GBA you've had for years. ;)

Nope.. it's not exactly a spam site, either though (I consider spam unwanted and usually uncontrollable advertisement).  They've never sent me any spam, the offer is real, and people have gotten free PSPs from it.  It works in a similar way as commercial advertisements: it's simple economics-- you pay some money to one company (though you can trick your way out of paying simply by cancelling an offer before you get billed-- this is what a ton of people do and so do I), that company pays some money to FreePSPs.com, and that money (including money spent by people who decide to give up halfway through) goes to the purchases of PSPs..

really?   hmmm I checked it out and it seemed scary to me. I was wanting to do it so I could get one for my brother without spending another $250.

Can you tell me exactly how you back out with out being billed and still get the credit for taking the offers?  How exactly did you do this?

Well, FreePSPs says (in a popup) that if you cancel the eFax trial they'll take away your credit.. but I think that's a bunch of crap anyway because it seems to be the standard way that a lot of people do it. :)

Here's a guide on which offers are best to go with (especially if you're trying to do it without getting billed): http://userdata.acd.net/vv/hugewallet/offers.html

Basically your best bet is to do an offer that has a trial and then cancel it after you get your credit while you still have the trial (such as eFax, which I used and I cancelled my eFax account through e-mail after I got my credit and I still have my credit right now after about a day of my eFax account being gone).

Remember to use my referral id if you can (I'm getting a PSP outside of FreePSPs, so I'm not actively recruiting people anymore, but it'd still be cool to get another one for some money, which is what a lot of people do): http://www.FreePSPs.com/   ?r=16926802 or in my signature.
