Taken from CNN.com

Quote
The show's biggest surprise, though, will likely be the revelation of "Prey". Gamers first heard of "Prey" in 1997. The game, originally about a Native American who fights several nefarious alien races, was thought to be cancelled, but quietly restarted a few years ago. The new version will use the "Doom 3" graphics engine and is said to be a visually striking title. There's no word on whether the story has changed.
3D Realms, makers of the popular "Duke Nukem" series, originally worked on "Prey," but word is they have handed development to a third party and are overseeing work on the game. Take Two Interactive Software (Research) is the likely publisher for the game, given its relationship with 3D Realms, but has not made any announcements.

Me, for one, is /excited!
Prey was my most anticipated game beside Quake II when they were first announced and I swear...Prey was the coolest thing ever. I loved the levels, the models and the whole thing is going to be so cool!
I'm involved in a small Prey community and we kind of guessed that it would use Doom3...bad-ass, that's all I have to say. I'm more psyched about this than DNF...and I'm pretty psyched about DNF!

meh. again the hype. i hope it will be at least a good game. because that 'top secret' "portal technology" was one of the biggest features of the game, probably was the feature. now they're using doom3 engine, so what about those portals and weird spaces and all that impressive stuff they were so happy about back then? my bet it will be your standard modern fps with nothing special...

If this game is a success, I don't think that would be fair to Daikatana,  we're talking about at least 2 engine switches here and 10 year+ development cycle

Blah, this game is going to be a hit or miss. I for one don't give a crap as much about a title as most people (they are the ones responsible for today’s crappy games, and by that I mean they are the ones that make big companies publish crap and keep buying it just cause it has the same title as ONE game they liked.), I care more about the people behind the game. Prey, was going to be put out by 3D Realms, creators of such hits as Duke 3D and other classics, but now years later, it’s going to use a totally new engine, probably a whole new story, and worse a whole group of different people making it. So you are like "I was so looking forward to THAT game, THIS one is going to be great!" You are just helping what I think and that you go for a title and yet the game is going to be nothing like it was going to be. The game was going to be great for me, because a cool company was going to make it, and they had a reputation of making great titles but now, only are semi making it. That’s almost like saying the next Star Craft 2 game is going to be great because you have it stuck in your head that last one was good, so this one has to be like it, but what if I was to tell you a company like id was making Star Craft 2, would you still buy it and praise it then cause its named Star Craft 2?

Yup, from the hidden message in the source code on http://www.prey.com .....

"Hiding things in the source code is so 20th century. If you're looking for more info: PC Gamer. June issue. Worldwide debut"

This has probably already been posted, but this is for those who have yet to see it.

Damnit... come on June issue!  Somebody give me a time machine!   :x

I hope it will be the first game which will push the Doom3 engine to it's real limits. That means (finally) portal technology, much better leveldesign as seen in Doom3 and hopefully a great story and gameplay :)

I think ID made the DOOM III levels feel clausterphobic for the whole jarred in feeling to try and create fear in the end  only getting the whole cheap scare thing effect right. DOOM III should be optimized better and the gameplay should be faster, PCs at the time when PREY gets released should be able to handle a bigger Monster Count if I can put it that way.
