Does anyone use an Apple ][ emulator for OSX?  If so, what are the better uses for it?  Aside from nostalgia and programming simple graphics and text games, is there more good stuff to be found?  what should I do, find some old games?  If so, where can those be found?

Also, what's the best one to grab?  I've seen a highly rated ][gs emulator out there, and I know it runs all the old E, C and etc...

I look forward to the memories, but I want to do it right the first time.

Well, I guess not. :)

Besides, it seems I missed a pertinent thread below that answered similar questions....

I haven't looked for a Mac one - it would have to be someone else on here..... :)

BTW, I got your latest mp3 links: stickybomb, oxygenflare, pistolwhipped. :)

Compiling a list of Apple II emulators here..

Virtual Apple (PC, web-based) - play Apple II roms in a web-based environment.. no need to download anything. :)  Thanks to "Aliotroph?" in this topic for the heads-up.

Apple II Portable (PSP) - play Apple II roms on your PSP.

Zophar's Domain - Apple II emulators for PC (PC: Windows/DOS) - I haven't tested any of these, but this appears to be a good list of emulators you can download and play (you'll need to find/download ROMs as well, though, unlike with Virtual Apple).

OK, so it's only taken me 2 months to get to this, but I've finally checked it out and it's frickin AWESOME!!! all my old favourite games are there, hell, BOLO is there! The trick is to try and remember what the controls were because they're not listed, and because the keyboard set up is not the same sometimes (like in the case of Choplifter, I can't get it to work at all. I can't figure out how to get Ultima working, probably something to do with the multiple disk requirements, too bad because I would really of enjoyed checking that out.
Something that I find funny is that I played all these games on a monochrome green screen and playing Crush Crumble and Chomp in colour was just bizarre to me. Having said that I've been dying to play Crush Crumble and Chomp for the past 20 years, just to remember what it was like. It's an amazing game that could have been designed better, but it's still so much fun. On of the first quasi turn based strategy games I can think of... hmmm... I wonder if there is Galactic Empire on there... I gotta go check that out too... wow this is such a great emulator, thanks!

EDIT: ok, not so good. The active X portion of this site is doing some interesting things and communicating while I am not on the site. Looks like it's at least spyware, and at worst something nasty... going to have to format the damn thing. I'll load it up on a machine that I don't do anything with later.
