I want some input of what you guys think. Should we have a place to post writings and such we have done to get criticed and to know what we can do better with our works? I think it would be a good idea. I can show you that there will probably be an author on this forum within the next 5 to 10 years. This poem began with the prompt by Rizimar.
-This Is The Way It Should Be-
We were all alone until
We had finally met each other,
Sharing the same interests.
We got together,
Grew to know even more about each other
And learn of what we wanted to do and became connected
Through the distance that kept us apart.
This is the way it should be,
Is us together forever,
Having a great big family.
Then I looked straight into you ever glowing eyes,
And I saw the emotion within them,
Love was all I seen/
This is the way it should be.
I glanced up at you,
And I saw the emotion filled within them,
Never wanting to leave,
Always wanting to dream,
We both feel
This is the way it should be.
I walked off the porch
And sat on my old tire swing,
And you walked over
And pushed me gently.
Our hearts connected emotionally.
That's when I realized
That this is the way it should be.
I looked back at you
And saw the emotion fill your eyes....
This isthe way it should
Always be.

This is one reason why we need a writing section here on the forum. What do you guys think.

I think an "Official literary critique thread" would be better than a new forum.  People could post poems, fanfics, and short stories; let's make this the quasi-official thread.

Do you want us to judge your work and give you suggestions for improvement?  I know you can't really help it but I think there's a bit too much mushy teenage emotion.

I love writing.  It's fun ...

You probably won't be seeing any of the kick-ass stories I have written, because they are very likely to be the basis of the IP content of some of my games.  I created a few universes of my own, and they were inspired by some seriously cool shit happening during some seriously cool times in my life!  :D

Too many poems about either love or suicide. I love peopme about the simple life or suggestion on matters. Its good to share with us but if you want good critiquing then post your work on a accrual writing forum.

I don't like poetry at all but a topic dedicated to it would be a nice decision.  Just slap an "Official" on it and you're guaranteed to soon hit 175 pages. :)

Im not much for poems about love and death and such myself :(  ive herd it already, arent people a little more complex than just "i love you but your gone now im going to commit suicide" are people really that shallow?

Now some real writing would be King Crimson lyrics 8)  that stuff is great
"and if a bird can speak who once was a dinosaur
and a dog can dream
should it be implausible
that a man can supervise
the construction of light..."

Good stuff 8)  :P

xanga and livejournal is a great place to put them

oh

The blood is the life
drowning
shattering
No one understands my thoughts
I'm the darkness that rules your mind
i am lost and cast away from society
i am mocked by foolish mortals
wild hair permeates forth like snakes
gushing
my soul is like poison
one day i too will take life
endless bleak night

damn, i can't stand this emo shit, let alone having a forum dedicated to it
