I hope my indulgence of these forums is acceptable for the purposes specified below. October 6th 2005 Dominus Animae is pleased to announce its first soundtrack release with John Romero's DAIKATANA. The score as well as a multitude of high quality samples from it can be found here: www.dominusanimae.comDominus Animae is dedicated to powerful art works, of which music is arguably the dominant medium. Dominus shall focus primarily but not exclusively upon powerful classical music scores from the realm of interactive entertainment. Much exists that deserves public release. More scores are in the pipeline - please bookmark the site and check back in the near future for more offerings. I hope people looking for good music will have a listen - you might be surprised by what you hear. Thank you for your time.

Musicans are too serious about thier work... Hench why artist and musicans are a good contrast to one another. Odd how some of them end up together...

This is of course a fully licensed release. I'm guessing it is since this thread hasn't been nuked to hell and back.

This is of course a fully licensed release. Well, if that's true, good luck selling it. Soundtrack sorta comes with the game and since the only people likely to buy it would probably own Daikatana, you'll probably have a tough time selling many of them.

I PMed John on this one because it was a little strange to me. I've left it to him to call this one as he would probably know better than anyone else here that I know of.

This is fully licensed from Eidos, and the package was created with the VERY core assistance of John Romero... .
The music is complete and in game order. Sources utilized were the best possible lossless format works, not simply an extraction of the mp3s from the game archives.
My chief concern with this release is overcoming the reputation garnered by the game. Otherwise, good music is good music, regardless of medium.

I don't know why you're all so sceptical. John posted himself, that there is a sountrack coming: http://www.johnromero.com/phpubb/viewtopic.php?t=4141I think it's great to give an access to this awesome music to people, who didn't play the game! Methinks it's a good thing. The only aspect that keeps me re-thinking if I am gonna buy it is the price! Bah! There are track with better quality than the in-game music?! I GOTTA HAVE THAT! And where are our everyday Daikatana lovers? I don't see a single message of them in here. =)

I don't read every post on this site, only the threads thain the forums that I am modding so I didn't see John's earlier posts. In this particular case I don't think we have any way of knowing if this is the same person. I don't think we are as much sceptical as we are protective.

I don't think we are as much sceptical as we are protective. I'd rather not anyone order a CD of mp3's burned to a CD, so you can see my point of view.
