quake 3 engine is under GPL license, not LGPL, that means you can't sell anything with it without a license from ID!

I'm always amazed on how can anyone be so misinformed about the most famous opensource/freesoftware license (or maybe the most famous software license at all). Both GPL and LGPL allow you to SELL the software you make (or link) with it. The difference between these two is that GPL requires that your program is GPL too no matter how you link to the GPL code, while LGPL wants your code to be LGPL only if it is a part of the LGPL code (you can use any kind of license if you dynamically link the LGPL code or you provide object files for static re-linking). However both licenses allow the sell of software. Or else Red Hat, Suse, Oracle, etc would be in BIG trouble :-).
,

I happen to be one of these misinformed people, Thanks for that, Bad Sector! Really cleared it up for me.

The GPL FAQ can help, although the answers are a little skewed towards FSF's ideals about software :-).

So whatever happened to this "plan," I wonder?  I've yet to see anything from Jimmy up to this point and I'm seriously starting to lose faith.

Our little friend Jimmy has bitten more than he can chew, generally.

When I asked him about his first review for the site, he said he has been busy partying. So I doubt he's had much time for this either.

I had no faith to begin with, personally :P

I don't think he will use the Quake 3 engine.

Seems he's always all-talk, no-action, with plenty of excuses to go along with the lack of anything to show for his "skills" or passion.  You can't post a game review because you've been partying?  Wow, suddenly the "my dog ate my homework" excuse doesn't sound so cliche anymore.

Not to sound like a douchebag, Jimmy, but I remember a time when I actually believed in you.  I've seen nothing from you since day one.  Show something that proves otherwise - I dare you.  You haven't done shit.

I get on with Jimmy, most of the time, but I have to agree. An awful lot of the time he's like 'Yeah, I'm going to start working on this..', and never actually shows anything for it.

If I didn't know any better - I'd say it was the cannabis he's been smoking like mad lately.

"WOW WOW IM SO MOTIVATED, dude.. uhhh, where am i? Wait! Deep thought! I'll program a next-gen video game engine!"

Kidding, but still.

By the way - Chubby, when can I expect to see another review from you? There's no rush - it's just things have been pretty slow lately. (I finally got around to writing a review myself, actually... But Rizimar rewrote it. :P)

I've actually been playing a lot of games that are on systems not covered by the website.  Especially for Wii/Gamecbe  Here are some of those titles I've been playing recently:

Wii:
Blast Works
Boom Blox

Gamecube ('emulated' via the Wii!):
Sonic Mega Collection
Sonic Gems Collection
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Mega Man X Collection

I've also been on a bit of a Sega Genesis spree, though, playing some of my childhood favorites such as Chuck Rock 2, the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Mick & Mack: Global Gladiators, Road Rash series, and a heck of a lot more.  Perhaps I can someday get a Sega Genesis review up on the site.  I do apologize for the lack of content from me recently, but I'll do my best to have something up here soon.

Do you think we could add sections for even more systems besides Genesis and PC?  Maybe sections for other systems as they're requested instead of adding them all in at once?

Rewrote? Nah. I edited it rather heavily, but that was mostly just restructuring it. Most of it is still your writing.

That may be so - but it wouldn't have been publishable without you. So cheers.

Sure thing - I will add further sections when reviews have been created on each system, although, I'd prefer it if we focus primarily on PC reviews - I don't want 50 Xbox reviews, and only 20 PC reviews. That'd be silly, considering the site's theme and name.

I definitely agree.  I'm going to try and find some PC games to review so that we can begin adding more and more to that section.  I'll certainly keep an eye out and see what I can get into.

They're all (including Jimmy) waiting for me to bring the engine (Psy) into a stage where it can be used for real game development. Right now it's just a small pile of C that can draw..triangles with OpenGL. I've been really busy with college and I'm surprised I've been able to get my stuff together and do as little as that. 3dfxdev forums for screenshots  :) (more as a joke than anything else).

I hope i can keep it up and show you guys some serious stuff by October.
