If anyone had a chance to play the lovely entertaining Shareware 'One Armed Battle' game ( http://virtualapple.org/onearmbattledisk.html ) then this might be of interest.  Awhile back I started working on a new version of this programmed in Flash/PHP.
My forum on my web page is currently down because I haven't had a chance to get updates for it my host requires but another interesting thing in the developement of this.  I had a forum that people could post stuff about this project and I actually came across a guy that did some sound work for some of the people involved in some of the old Apple IIGS shareware days.  This was really exciting for me, and it was weird to hear the names of people like Dr Doomseday etc that I had seen on this games.  Actually I watched alot of coversation between the shareware makers by loading the code through a hex editor and searching for text strings.  A lot of hacker names and messages to other hackers sprinkled throughout the code in alot of these games.  I'll send the link when my forum is back up, but just thought I'd post this since this is my first visit to this forum.

Ok, got my forum back up and so I'll link.  The game re-make has been on hold for too long, but when I started I was working on it while trying at the same time to get my name out as a good web programmer.  Now I'm finally in a position where I don't have to work a million hours a week web programming so have started work on the game again.  Anyway, old revived forum here:

And the dude I met has some posts in there under the name Nightmaretony and "guest".  I should tell him about this forum, as you can tell from the post here:

Looks like he has done sound work for the Apple II before.  Including according to him Castle Wolfenstein 3D!

So anyway, for any Apple II fans I'm sure this might come of interest.  I'll have to get ahold of him and tell him the game is back in the works.  Fun fun!

Wow! Checked out your Twiki and saw the list of magazines is the vault.  Softline! Oh oh oh so cool.  I remember that was THE gamming magazine back in the day.  I even remember the cover scan from the folio! That was the name the game these characters came from!  Lets see row one... Choplifter, Gruds in space... row 2 pest patrol, serpentine, ultima 2, uh.. umm.. crap..
