here in the UK.. a 360 game costs £50 ($86) .... crazy amount...

how much is it generally in america?

and is there much point to getting a 360 without a HD TV?

i hear psps are far cheaper to buy in america etc..

my student loan comes in this saturday (woo-hoo)

so im down to these decisions:

1. buy a psp
2. buy a 360
3. neither
4. buy the psp and then get the 360 when i start placement year this june (i dont know how things are done in uni in america or elsewhere.. but here in N.Ireland -- a course is generally 4yrs in length - 3rd year is spent on a placement working for a company... im hoping to get sun microsystems)

decisions, decisions!!

ahh ill go with option 3 - and just get drunk!

The price is higher than vanilla xbox games, except for 1st party titles.  Typically $60 for 3rd party.

I play my 360 on a standard tv, and it still looks great.  Especially a game like PGR3, damn.

Personally in my own opinion I'd save the cash and spend it on something more worth while. I know the 360 is the latest and greatest at the moment, but in a couple of months the prices for Games will come down, much like everything else. So why buy a 360 when it'll gouge the crap out of your wallet and leave your ass bleeding?

Psp, Eh not my fancy for hand held systems I do enjoy playing games just not wherever I go...

I'd save the money and invest in nice widescreen LCD Tv or something of that sort, so when prices are more reasonable for said systems you can enjoy them even more than what you have already...

Buy the following:

-Sega Genesis
-Sega 32X
-Sega Dreamcast
-NES
-SNES
-N64
-Possibly Saturn if you've got the cash

-And a fuckload of games for each.

I'd spend $400 on that, but the only thing I do not own is an NES.

I've lost pretty much all interest in the console market and am trying to stay sctrict with PC gaming (Hate that label). I find the console market too expensive and just doesn't have the charming 3rd party games that won my heart with the N64.

That's why I use retro machines...

BTW the XBox 360's boot screen is plain as piss, the first time I saw my Sega Saturn boot two weeks ago I was like:

"Whoooaaaa......"

"Do it again."

*Click*

"Do it again."

*Click*

"Do it again..."

*Click*

"DAMN THAT IS THE MOST FUCKING STRAIGHT UP AWESOME SHIT EVER!"

I literally did a hard reset three times.  I've never seen a console wow me like that booting up.

Just watching the logo assemble is cool enough, but that boot audio...dayum.  No other machine has ever done that, I got Dreamcast when it first came out and it's booting thing had no "wow" factor.

But I've never seen a boot screen as piss-ass as the 360.  It comes out of shit-ass clear water and rotates.  Wow.  Most likely, it's fanboy jizz, they rubbed one out so many times they have a zero sperm count.

It's getting it's ass kicked by a ten year old machine, in the first five seconds of powering up!  That's sad!

I wish my friend wasn't such a fucker and sold me his Saturn when I wanted it. He played it like Ten times then left it alone.

360 would be OK if it had more than like 5 games.

It's got a decent amount for its launch, I think the counts near 20.  The problem is, a lot of them are sports games.  Oh well, I got the four I want, and that's enough to keep me busy until Elder Scrolls.

GO FOR TEH BOOZE!!
Meh, I say wait for the price on the 360 to drop a bit before buying it, because I've been hearing so many hardware issues with the 360 that I believe it's not worth buying at the moment.

I love how people buy cutting edge shit these days that only plays shit.

The Genesis was cutting edge shit in 1989 but only played shit.  No one bought it for two and a half years until Sonic The Hedgehog came out.

Likewise for the XBox 360.  But everyone has gotta have "the same shit but prettier zOMG I can practically TASTE the Night Elf vaginas!"

Killer app?  Who needs it?  LOL!  UR GETTING A TASTE OF THE FUTURE EVEN THOUGH MORE POWERFUL MACHINES EXIST IN THE U.S. ARMY, OR AT UR FRIEND'S BOB'S HOUSE DOWN THE STREET!"

"YA, I OWN A $400 SUPERCOMPUTER, LOL.  THIS IS MY SECOND ONE.  I GOT A PS2 BACK IN THE DAY, LOL, THAT THING HAD MORE POWER THAN ANY LAST GEN MACHINE.  DREAMCAST SUCKED SO HARD WITH IT'S CRISPER TEXTURES AND ANTI-ALIASING, THE PS2 WAS SOOOO COOL IT CAN RENDER INDIVIDUAL LEAVES ON 10,000 TREES WITH ALL THE GRAPHICAL LUSTER OF A SEGA 32X, LOL."

People are tards.  You saw the "future" at a kiosk at Toys 'R Us.  Stop bragging, bro...I brought my Super Nintendo into school today and kids literally PIMPED me.  The members of the gaming club got schooled by me in Super Mario Kart.
