Simply ignoring CheapAlert would have avoided turning this thread into another mudhole.

I ran into this petition just now.. people petitioning for a port of Descent to Linux: http://www.tuxgames.com/petitions/viewpetition.cgi?nc=1141881423&ref=57

that's Descent Freespace, totally unrelated.

I doubt you've even played FreeSpace.  Oh wait, you haven't - you said so on MSN ages ago.

Who the fuck would want a Linux port of FreeSpace anyway?  Not me.  No cutscene support.

Stage-It: In-game menus in 320x200 work for me. Which menu exactly did you try to invoke, and was it with old or new style menus?

Old Style.

Sorry for being an asshole earlier.

Incorrect.  I take it you're referring to me directly.  No, I have common courtesy and I demonstrate it very often.  Just never, ever to cheapalert because I hate that dipshit.  Oh, and I'm not alone.

Have a nice day. :)

Well, I don't really care who you hate, or why. If you flame him again like this I will smack you with my big stick. Drop it, or take it outside the forum, because you're just being obnoxious, and that spoils things for everyone.

Hey, Karx, I found something interesting!

I recently purchased a Dell Dimension 4400 from my brother.

It came with a GeForce2 MX 400.  I played D2X-XL with it and it worked great!

But after I upgraded it to an ATi Radeon 9600XT, the Y axis pitch was totally off!  It went way faster than the X axis!  This was on a fresh install of Windows too, with the same install of D2X-XL I already had!

I had a similar issue on my X800XL but never could fully correct it.  The GeForce2 had both axis moving at an identical speed.

Is this a problem with ATi's OpenGL ICD?  It's never been up to par with nVidia's.

Actually, vertical pitch shouldn't be depending on gfx hardware or drivers at all. I have however introduced a fast pitch toggle recently, maybe that one isn't set properly.

Well, there also is an expert mode toggle now in the toggles menu to get rid of all those totally superfluous and cryptic configuration settings the menus are overflowing with. ;)
