Holy shit, these guys are oblivious as to what will hit them .

Enjoy your Sega Saturn, retards.

I think it will be a disturbing negative PR and financial shock to the industry when this thing bombs...Not for the better.  Creativity wise, you'll see more in the long run, but for the short term, we're in deep shit.

Hell, even Game Informer mirrored 70% of why I said the PS3 would fail in their own article.  Dont know what I said?  Search for forum for "PlayStation 3, Saturn" User: "Stage-It."

I'll scan in that article later today for ya.  I personally don't think Sony fanboys will be touting the Blu-Ray drive when their games start going for $10-20 more than their friend who is a 360 owner.

I personally have no faith in this system what so ever. It’s a gradual decline that people keep buying because the name. Just like the new updated Xbox.

I'm waiting to see what Nintendo has in store for us. It might be good?

And you aslso need a HD TV just to use the fucking thing. http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/03/24/gdc2006_ps3_no_hdmi/ (Max quality that is   )

This also pisses me off because I just know this stupid system will push  Blu-ray formatts for movies. I'll stick to DVD thanks.

When I see someone walking with a PS3 box in hand, I'm going to yell "HAHAHA!  SUCKER!  HAVE FUN WITH YOUR SEGA SATURN II!"

He'll think to himself, "Man, what a crazy kid."  Then wait two years.  "The kid was right, dammit!"

Yeah, basically Sony is just doing everything wrong with this fuckin' thing.  The only target market it's made for is Japan...Not America or Europe.  It also requires HDMI 1.3 - 1.1 is still being used as of now.  In other words, our nice new Sony Bravia LCD TV most likely won't work with this thing.

Bye bye Sony.  Nice knowing ya.  Jesus, I can't wait to see the Sega community's cackling on this, talk about role reversal.  Now that I've read about the HDTV issue, I'm pretty sure this thing will tank in a worse way than Saturn - no influtential software and dismal hardware sales.

Basically, this machine has been designed for graphics and not gameplay.

When the PS1 came out, Sony blocked developers from making 2D software.  Only RPG's and fighters were allowed.  Fuck the fact that there were already tons of 3D games that "showcased the systems power," if you wanted to make a 2D game you essentially took your paycheck and burned it on Saturn, or cut content out for N64.

Hey, is the PS2 not competitive with Sega's cheap Dreamcast?  No problem!  Lie about the specs!  Give it names like "Emotion Engine" and fancy crap, and make techdemos that could be easily done on DC itself or an nVidia GeForce256 DDR.

Now PS3 is promising the best graphics yet!  And with a $500 machine and $80 discs, you can be damn sure that you'll lose more money on this than with Saturn!  Except unlike Saturn, you won't get no exclusives like NiGHTS or Burning Rangers!  Fuck no!  Sony has no first party stuff!  You'll see Konami release MGS4 for 360 to salvage American sales.

LOL

I definitely agree... the PS3 is going to blow.

As if the XBOX 360 hasn't already blown enough!  It's supposed to be a system meant for graphical whoring (with VERY little innovation besides XBOX Live, which isn't that innovative itself), yet as soon as DirectX10 and Windows Vista are released side-by-side, these new, graphically-powerful PC games such as Crysis and UT 2007 are going to SMASH the visuals on the XBOX 360.

I'm going to LMAO once consolers realize that PC's will be right over top of them yet again.

Consoles suck.. I can't wait for the Nintendo Revolution though, because that's going to be one fun system!  Every other system is nothing new at all.

Better graphics?  That's it?

Fuck that, I'm sticking to PC's.

Here's what I think.

XBox 360 sucks.  The games suck, the graphics which were supposed to be a sellign point aren't all they're cracked up to be.  The Live Arcade and its focus on homebrew sounds pretty sweet, but there's a better alternative (PC game development).

Revolution might be awesome, but only if Nintendo changes its pattern of catering to children.  The emulation could make it the best of the three consoles, but it sucks that the games aren't going to be free as some guy high up in Nintendo was once reported as explicitly saying they would be.

PS3 doesn't have much going for it yet, unfortunately.  Metal Gear Solid 4 and Devil May Cry 4 will hopefully live up to the early games in their series.  The next SOCOM game should live up to its name (as all of the games in the series have).  So who knows what the PS3 will turn out to be; no one can say for sure yet.  And of course, the PS3 will have the greatest modern series: Grand Theft Auto.

If Nintendo starts to pay more attention to 17+ gamers, and/or if the emulation system is worth it, then I'll consider the Revolution.  Otherwise it'll probably be the PS3.  Or maybe both.

Microsoft pussied out and made the 360 its Xbox upgrade. I have really big hopes for the Revolution. It’s now actually being called "Nintendo Go" from later press releases. (Stupid name I know. They should call it NintenGo :P)

It sucks I know that the Nintendo games will be charged to download. I mean maybe it will be like 50 cents or a buck a game. I think we will see Nintendo release compilation rom disks to install later in its life because I won't pay for something 20 years old.

Er, where does it say that?  That article is about the PS3 not supporting max quality HDTV (1080i).  Even if the PS3 only supported HDTV component out, there are adapters that can be bought to downsample the signal to RCA or S-Video.

Anyhow, the PS3 likely won't become another Sega Saturn, but it doesn't seem to be faring well right now.

It is not real-world more powerful than the XBox 360, even on paper.

The architecture is completely new and tools for it are still unsophisticated.  The games that will be coming out are going to be delayed up the ass, unless the tools mature faster than a mayfly.

Outside of that, it still has backwards compatibility, which is a huge plus.

Because I'm interested in which points we're missing on, since I don't see anything wrong with it... surely if we're misinformed, you can clear up the misinformation with truth, right?

Ok, well I'll bite.

First off, the 360 doesn't "suck".  It may be a relative opinion, but to doom ANY next gen system to failure at this point is idiotic.  The game selection at this point is slim.  Just like EVERY OTHER FUCKING CONSOLE LAUNCH.  There are games worthy of playing, even owning.  Oblivion was worth every goddamn penny I spent on it.

The Ps3 will not bomb.  It will sell out at launch,  millions of consoles will sell.  Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.

The Revolution (or whatever it'll be called) will also sell out at launch.  Millions of consoles will sell.  Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.

Whoever coined the term Xbox 1.5 needs to be bitch slapped.  The 360 and PS3 will be comparable, book it.  Just because the first volley of games weren't extraordinary....have people not learned from, i dunno, EVERY console launch in the past 10 years?  It takes time to garner all the power a console can provide.

Also, whoever thought up the notion that a gamecube=kids system needs to be bitch slapped as well.  It's sad that games have to feature fucking and drug use to be considered "adult entertainment."  Nintendo doesn't need that schtick because Nintendo makes games that are FUN in their own right.

I'd post more, but I honestly don't feel like exerting any more effort over this trainwreck.

You can officially consider me above the fray on this one.
