I'm sure it's common knowledge that a lot of Doom's sounds were actually from sound libraries, as they pop up all over the place, but what sounds were actually done by iD for the game?

What, even "To win the game you must kill me, John Romero"?

I think many of the sounds came from Sound Ideas. Listen to their demo The General -- That inimitable rocket explosion is right at the front! I also recognised some gunshots, machinery and monsters.

Doom 2 did infact have some original sounds actually. I believe sounds for the new monsters were new or at least distorted from common sounds.
