We are currently searching for a highly experienced and motivated Lead Programmer to manage the programming team for a unique multiplayer PC title.  This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.  We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area near Redwood City.

Responsibilities:
•   Collaborate with John Romero to implement the vision for the game
•   Architecting the structure of the project, writing the top-level Technical Design Document, and specifying the inputs/outputs and goals of each system
•   Managing the programming team (approximately 7 coders), mentoring and solving problems with your programming team, and writing code for non-critical-path systems
•   Investigating various technologies (3D engines, sound tools, map editors, exporters, etc.) and preparing a list of pros and cons to assist in the best choice of tools and technologies for our game
•   Create or co-develop production pipeline with Art, Design and Audio to maximize efficient workflow
•   Maintaining technical design documents using our Wiki system
•   Work closely with your Producer to schedule and track your programming staff’s progress
•   Work closely with Art, Design and Audio to foster a highly communicative, coordinated team effort
•   Conduct performance reviews and assist with career development of your programmers


Qualifications:
•   Experience in a Lead Programmer position on several shipped titles required
•   Proven experience in managing a programming team and utilizing programmers with specific skills on tasks that maximize their productivity
•   Advanced C++ expertise
•   3D graphics API expertise
•   Highly proficient in advanced math and 3D math
•   Experience in several programming environments and commercial applications associated with game development (MS Studio, Perforce, Word, Excel, Wiki, etc.)
•   Excellent communication and strong leadership skills
•   Self-motivated. Well-organized. Solid problem-solving ability
•   Genuine enthusiasm and interest in video games

•   Source code example of your programming, preferably a header file for an entire game system and a page of methods within that system
•   Demo programs that display your knowledge of 3D APIs, runnable on Windows XP
•   The memory map of a game you worked on
