Anyone else big unreal fans here? I played the origional unreal when i was 7, and have been playing both the unreal series in addition to doom and quake since. I'm really excited about UT3, and i've begun to play more unreal recently because the new Quake and Doom weren't quite as good as the origionals.

I didn't care about Unreal.  It was Unreal Tournament that got my attention, I've never seen a game with bots act so real before,.. plus the graphics and action and super jumping and dual pistols made me go "wow!"

I'm hoping UT 2007 turns out to be more than UT2004 with better graphics.  They need destructible environments and tons of fun to be had with the vehicles and physics,.. and area specific damage... blah blah blah.

Unreal Gold and UT were both fun. I especially loved playing on Unreal servers with a shitload of crazy mods where you get super weapons and there are hundreds of enemies in any given area.

I have fond memories of unreal and unreal tournament

I remember towards the beginning of unreal i was enclosed in this hall and the lights went off and then started flickering and this creature started darting at me, scared me shitless, i was around 8 at the time myself.

Unreal tournament really caught me though, similar to jheeto's post, it was quite real to me.

Unreal 2 was an amazing ooking game and a lot of fun, i should probably play it again....

Yea, that part scared me too when I played it, after that I stuck to deathmatch for a while until I could go back and beat it.

I had a scary moment (a while ago now) when I tried to calculate how many frags I had on UT2006 - minimum 600,000 ... omg!
I played on and off for quite some time and was happy to see I ranked in the top 99.6% on the all-time leaderboard.

"I guess when your born to play FPS, there's just nothing to do but play FPS!"

Onslaught was the last addiction ... oh, I LOVE that tank ... it's just so rude!
The movement tricks with UT where a real boost to gameplay as well, everything else now, feels so restricted.
I liked the idea with assasins creed of learning from parkour (my new addiction!) so perhaps we will see a trend more in that direction now (I hope), that and better vehicles ... bigger tanks ... bigger & better explosions ... mooore giiib  >=D

I didn't care about Unreal.
I was exactly the opposite. I loved the first and second Unreal games, but the Unreal Tournament series just sucked dick. All of them. The engine was great; the gameplay was not (well, not in comparison to Quake 3 at least).

And has anyone noticed that Halo Wars is a complete ripoff of Quake Wars...I just found it amusing.

I found UT to be ok, but somehow a bit slow for my taste :-).

I followed the development of Unreal for years on gaming news sites and bought the purple box the day it came out. Smoked a bowl, started the install...kept smoking and loaded the game (took forever) and was blown away by the castle fly by. Couldn't really play it very well with the condition i was in and never really got into it...ever. UT though, i downloaded the 3dfx demo the day it was announced and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. The reaperbots were familiar from quake days, but the audio taunts were cool new stuff. I liked the new domination mod as well as assault. Played UT every night for a year or two. I tended to buy everything DE came out with until post pariah....i don't have dark sector. still, digital extremes is a helluva crew.

I used to play UT back when it came out (I played the 3dfx demo at first) and I deathmatched with friends, but now I realize it's one of the gayest, most idiotic FPSs ever made and I hate it. It plays very well, but it looks like shit both theme-wise and tech-wise. It's a really bad sci-fi movie made into a FPS. Sorry guys, I hate UT. That doesn't mean I'm a Quake 3 guy though. No, I think Q3 is just as bad. It's a great piece of technology, but a really stupid game.

UT and Q3 are great games, you just suck at them and/or have lice.

No, I don't suck at them, and I can assure you that I don't have lice. Do you have any other stupid things to say, Mr. Idiot? I forgot to say, not only is UT gay, but CheapAlert is gay too. Gayer.

in my school, UT has become pretty popular, and now a good 50-some people have it installed on their accounts....

it started when me and my friends were bored at school so we installed UT on our accounts (the latter versions wouldn't fit). Then after some people saw us playing they wanted to install it to, so they downloaded the demo and so on and so forth. Somehow people think that only UT works on our accounts, and that other games wouldn't. Anyway, now it has spread and usually during any open periods there are games going on. Its pretty awsome.
