I want a DS. Now.

Beyond that, i found a graphical adventure game quite good. Unfortunatelly i don't remember the game's name (but a friend of mine does).

I'm trying to find a DS game like HDB, but nobody I know who knows the DS library well is familiar with HDB - if anyone here hasn't played HDB they need a kick in the arse, and should play it....then advise me on what DS games are similar :D

I can get easily distracted by Big Brain Academy from time to time, if you want to call that a game.

I really liked Hotel Dusk, even though it doesn't have much replay value.  Mainly because I was like "OMG.  I can actually progress (and beat) an adventure game?!" :o
The same company also did Trace Memory, which I don't like as much.

Etrian Odyssey is a first-person dungeon crawl that moves pretty slowly and can get kinda hard, but it's at least worth reading some reviews on.  You start out by making characters for your party and have eight classes to choose from, I think.  Then you go through the dungeon and have to draw the map on the bottom of your screen as you go along.  There's a lot of walking, though, which gets annoying once you get down to the third level.  Can't just warp there (at least, I'm still "early" in the game and I can't do anything like that).

Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime is pretty good.  It feels like a platformer to me, but it's a top-down view, and you go around collecting stuff you eventually shoot out of your tank during boss battles. @.@;; I can't review it very well, go look at gamespot or something.

Also decent games: Sonic Rush (2d sonic game, so it's pretty good), Nanostray (shmup),

On the other hand, I wouldn't really recommend Final Fantasy 3, unless you want to pay $40 for a game similar to 1 and 2 (go to town, run around world map, go to dungeon, return, etc, no real story line)

Nor would I recommend Rayman 2 or Mario 64 for DS, or any Kirby platformer (same as every other kirby platformer there is)

Then again what DS game does have replay value? I'm lost on that one.

I got:
         -Metroid Prime: Hunters
         -Metroid Prime: Hunters (Demo)
         -Animal Crossing
         -Lost Magic
         -Ridge Racer DS
         -Super Mario 64 DS
         -Nanostray
         -Dr. Kawashimas Brain Training

If you like oldschool shooters then you should definetly check out Nanostray and the upcoming Nanostray 2.
Metroid Prime: Hunters is also cool once you got used to the controls.

First when the DS came out, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of cool games, but now it's got a pretty nice library.

Got a DS! Got a DS! Got a DS!

Ok, to begin with... i'm the opposite of Kado. I got Final Fantasy 3 and so far i love it. It's true that is a bit weaker than other Final Fantasies from a storyline point of view but it's not just hackslash, town, buystuff, out, hackslash. It does contain that (of course) but i find the story interesting and the character development, although a bit slow, is very good. And i paid 42 euros for it (that is $56) :-P. But so far it provided me for around five days of entertainment and still i believe that i need a lot to finish it (i'm a slow finisher with such games).

When i finish with FF3, i plan to get Trace Memory which is the adventure thing i was talking about in my first post in this thread. I have this game in my mind since the first time i saw it in a leaflet in a store even before DS was out. On the other hand i'm not really interested in Hotel Dusk (never liked those detective kind of characters in adventure games).

When i'm over with Trace Memory, i plan to get New Super Mario Bros. I love sidescrolling mario games so it would be a crime to not get this one :-). Having said that, i'm not that keen on Mario 64/DS (although that's not a sidescrolling game...).

Of course i also plan to get that new Zelda game once it comes out.

In the meanwhile, i just ordered a Games N Music card from play.com (people in eu should check it, it has free shipping :-). From the description:
Quote
With Games ‘n’ Music, you can put your Nintendo DS or DS Lite at the centre of your digital lifestyle. You can use it to launch home brew games written for the DS and readily available on the internet, listen to your happening sounds with the device’s integrated MP3 player or even watch videos. And you don’t need to modify your console to use it…

Games ‘n’ Music comes with a 128MB Micro SD card for you to store your games and data, and if that’s not enough, just slip in a new card and expand its capacity to up to 2GB. It’s really easy to use too. Just fit the Micro SD card into the USB adapter (supplied), plug it into your computer and drag and drop your files onto the card. It’s that easy!

Games ‘n’ Music contains everything you need straight out of the box. It even comes bundled with a 25-game CD, offering some of the best games the DS home brew scene has to offer, as well as a video conversion program for your PC (Windows XP or later required) to convert your movies and video clips to a format you can play back with Games ‘n’ Music. It’s the ultimate in digital entertainment!

Features

    * Home brew gaming made easy.
    * Easy to use – drag and drop.
    * Watch videos and play MP3 sounds on your DS.
    * Comes with 25-game CD.
    * Video converter app included.
    * Includes 128MB Micro SD card.
    * Expandable to up to 2GB.
So i'm excited with my new console (which is the first after many many years) :-)
