So that's the new id stuff. The story reminds me of S.T.A.L.K.E.R a little :-P.

I like how id names their games using a single word :-)

EDIT: trailer

When are you going to talk about Rage?

Anyhow it looks all road warrior-ish to me. Looks like a fun game.

Actually it's the video/audio syncing of the video that is terrible.

That totally blew my mind. Comparing that side-to-side with the idtech5 test thing they had...omg. They pretty much did it again, imo. Last time I was really blown away like that was when I saw Doom 3 shots.

To be honest, Rage looks like just another shooter. From what I see in the video, they appear to be the normal 'RUSH AT THE PLAYER NO MATTER WHAT' type of AI.

Gameplay > Graphics.

Come on ID, I don't care what this piece of shit looks like. As long as it plays well! Don't rape my eyes with another game with Doom1 styled AI again.

Simplistic, kill everything, shooters are fun! Especially from id or 3D Realms.

I am incredibly stoked for Rage.

Rage MMO would be awesome for the MP, and I can see id cashing in on that huge market making engines for WoW II or whatever.  Mad Max style awesome land.  I can see my friend driving a car through the desert, myself riding shotgun blasting a machine gun out the window, as we whip through the desert, scouring the land with our friends in other vehicles with us, engaging hordes of zombies, or rival clans, in vehicular combat.

I seriously doubt those clips represent what the gameplay in the final product will be three years from now when it's finally released.

iD has always seemed to just go towards the graphics/technology than opposed to gameplay.  Hell, I remember reading a few years back some interviewer asked Carmack about AI on Doom 3 and basically he said something along the lines of the games zombies it doesn't need hardcore AI and he'll leave that upto Valve for HL2.  Dunno, Doom 3 was good the first few hours into it then was it just me or did you guys feel like it just sort of dragged on and you just finished the thing just for the sake of finishing a Doom game?  Quake 4 felt the same way too.  For some reason I've noticed just about every iD game always drops the ball at the end.  Quake 2, Doom 3, and Quake 4 had such unsatsifying lameass endings.  Quake 1's was okay, it was definitely goofy.  Gah, oh well.  Either way, I'll check out RAGE, but I'm not overly excited though admittedly it looks FANTASTIC, I can't wait to see games developed using the iD Tech 5 engine.
