Little offtopic, but, I personally am NOT satasfied with ID Tech for: to... shiny on edges. If you look HARD enough, you'll look that, in Photoshop "language", some area's are TOO burnt up. Like the sun is at noon on the edge's of the 3D objects, while on the other's object's normal.
Try to compare stills from Unreal Tournament and then from newest ID TECH: I thinik the lightining could have been better.

I mean.... from the time of Doom, there hasn't been convicning 3D althought we thought, back in 1994., that the matter of photoreality in games is jut matter of years, if not, then decades...

Damn we were wrong. I actuall miss the good ol' sprites. You had to use imagination and your "addons" from the head to make those sprites 'real'... The current 3D is still not giving enough convince.
I actually feel sorry that Ken's Silverman (of Build Engine fame) stopped doing his "revolutionary" voxel engine after all 3D cards manafacturers started to favorize polygons and clean lines instead of voxel technology. I actually preffered voxels over polygons, and I still do...

Voxels are awesome and so is Ken Silverman.

This is definitely one I'm looking forward to.  Is it true its an RPG FPS?  That you can go between towns and revisit etc?  Doom3, HL2, Crysis etc are all well and good but it would be nice to see a good RPG element thrown into the mix...perhaps a mix between FF, Metroid and Doom3...

I'm really looking forward to this. It looks amazing. Could be id's comeback, who knows. Seeing something new after so long is exciting indeed.

I have to say that i prefer Rage's look to UT3 because UT3's actually seems much better :-). That wouldn't be a problem for still images (and UT3 screenshots look *very* good), but it is an issue for a fast shooter where your attention must be on the enemies, not the environment. But i can't focus on the game, i always notice things in the environment :-P

EDIT: also for a game named Unreal, it looks too Real. I think with today's technology developers should try to make more "unrealistic" fantastic worlds than a copy of reality (even from future).
