Okay guys, Today I walked into a GAME store and picked up a copy of PSU:AOTI(PS2 version) for a fantastic £20. Well, thats fantastic considering its a new release - Amazon.co.uk and Play.com are selling it for £30...and they are usually much cheaper!

Anyway, after doing my Java uni work for the evening I shall now settle down and try it out.  The main selling point for this game was that you can import your "Extra" mode created character and that they will be the main character in the story mode.  The characters from PSU did my head in a bit and was frustrated that we couldn't just create our own character like in Baldurs Gate etc...

Anyway, I'm going to give it a whirl now and write back with my initial thoughts. ^_^

Gave it a whirl the other night but only for an hour.

Its basically an expansion pack but you dont need PSU to play it as its a stand alone game.  The nice thing is that you can import either your EXTRA or NETWORK avatar as the main character in the Story mode.  You get put under a Guardian instructer who guides you through the game(I'm assuming) and is a stand in for the female guardian in PSU.  Your character has next to little dialogue but its still satisfying to your character "act" with the other ones who do.  It has that feeling of your very first job where one of the older employees takes you on a tour of the place but stops to talk to someone else - but you stand next to them just keeping quiet and smiling as if you knew WTF they were talking about... ^_^

To be honest, it was a feature I had hoped for since playing the first PSU and Sonic Team has answered that call.  Cheers and Hoorays for that kind service!

Only problem I have now is not knowing which platform Sonic Team will continue the PSU series.  Wii or PS3?  The Nintendo GameCube had the PSO series so it might be likely they release a Phantasy Star game for the Wii.  But with Nights on the Wii and Golden Axe for the PS3 its difficult to tell which one to go for...
