With all the great games that came out last year, I think it's time for another "What games are you playing currently?" thread.  My list usually has a mix of new and old games, because I'm the nostalgic type who just cannot put down my favorite games!

My list of what I'm playing on my PC and some of my consoles/handhelds...

-CoD4 (360)
-Orange Box (PC)
-GTA:Vice City Stories (PSP)
-Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP)
-Field Commander (PSP)
-Advance Wars 2 (GBA)
-Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap (GBA)
-Brain Age 2 (DS)
-Forza 2 (360)
-Halo 3 (360)
-Burnout: Paradise (360)
-Legend of Legaia (PS)
-Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
-Metroid Prime 2: Echos (GC)
Castelvania: SOTN (360 live arcade)

That's just the list of games I've booted up in the last month or so.  Some of those games I've already finished.  I never include all the games I'm still working to complete.  That would be a very long list.  Ever since I became an adult, I don't have the time or patience usually to finish a game as quickly as before (1 week or less).  I usually play for a while, get bored and move on to another game.  It took over a year and a half of on-and-off play to beat Half Life 2.  Hell, I still have Dreamcast games in the packaging!

I too love to mix up new and old gaming.  I play more old games than new games,.. as they didn't take themselves so seriously as they do now,.. plus I'm just a nostalgic person who likes to have flashbacks to the "happy days".

Crysis (pc)
Unreal Tournament 3 (pc)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Shadow of Chernobyl (pc)
Carmageddon 2 (pc)
Jagged Alliance 2 (pc)
Duke Nukem : Time to Kill (PS1)
Worms: Armageddon (PS1)
Project: Overkill (PS1)
Capcom Classics Collection volumes 1 and 2 (PS2)
Dynamite Cop (Dreamcast)
Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast)
Zombie Revenge (Dreamcast)

After getting it to run in 640*480 mode I've been enjoying Crysis for a bit.  Also my Sega Saturn is currently under the TV in the living room...

Panzer Dragoon Saga
Sega Rally
Shinobi X( Pal version has the best music )
Guardian Heros
NiGHTS
Burning Rangers

...really wished I had Shining Force III but for some silly reason I passed up on it when it first came out. What a fucking dickhead I was!

Oh, how could I forget - BIOFORGE!

I've got that running in Dosbox.  I've had that since 1995.   You know, I'm stuck.  There's a mech on every floor that kills me. I can even go to the surface but some floating bots zap me dead.  There's the cyrogenics room with the mecha-raptor, and the tunnel beneath with the thing in the hole that instantly kills you.   I've been stuck there since 95.

I once had a magazine(PC review?) from 1995 which also reviewed Cryo's ALIENS.  BioForge was the one game that looked absolutely amazing. Well, that and Wing Commander 3 of course! But because my Computer wasnt up to spec I had to pass on both.  Shame, because when I got my completely ass-kicking new PentiumII it disappeared from the shop shelves - Its only just last week I managed to play it for the first time!

I think what appeals to me is that its a template for a game that I'm hoping to make. Its really incredible to think that the team that made this actually wrote their own software renderer amoungst other things.  The memory requirements for this game on release was 8MB but dammit I just ordered a Laptop with a T7500 processor that comes with 4MB cache! Its incredible how far technology has come since 1995.  I use Java as my main programming language at the moment and am wondering if Technology has moved on far enough for me to use Java alone to create something similar. It'll be a laugh finding out... ^_^

I have to say that despite BioForge's technical prowess it also comes with some incredibly annoying flaws. Although most pre-Resident evil games of this type were always buggers to control,  what really pissed me off was when fighting an opponent the bastard would keep on repeating their lines. OOOOHHHHHHHHH! Its made worse when you bugger up with the controls and start getting your ass handed to you! Fack'n windup or what!?!

But still, its a great game for its time.  God I miss the 90s!

I haven't been playing a lot of games recently...

Doom (PC)
Rock Band (360)
Mega Man X8 (PS2)

I wish rock band had more metal songs... I mean, Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Black Sabbath are awesome, but there are a lot of othere great metal bands out there. Also, they should've picked another Maiden song instead of Run to the Hills. They have much better songs out there, like Aces High. And why are the best songs just mere covers? >.<''

Only playing EVE for now, have 2 characters going and soon to create a third. And, since i play EVE for free by buying gametime, with currency earned in the game, so it will be some time spent there:).And, then on odd occasions a Daikatana DM or two.

Come to think of it i also been messing around with Mafia and the Alive mod: http://www.webgamer.ru/
