Reinstalled STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl and I'm replaying it once again with the Oblivion Lost mod, so I can unlock the new 'faction wars' feature.

I have that game, but I never really cared for it. Though, being able to shoot bodies and have them fly around wildly, spraying blood everywhere is always lots of fun

Been really enjoying the Empire: Total War demo that was released just a few days ago.  This time rather than the Roman Empire or "medieval" eras, Empire is set during the time period in which you have cannons, muskets, and so forth.  It's lots of fun and looks really good, too.  The naval battles are probably the best-looking of them all, as the ocean actually has waves and watching the crew aboard your ships is awesome.  Each crew member actually serves his own role so some guys fire at the other ships with guns whereas others may work as a team to load and aim the ship's cannons.

The physics make the game a lot of fun to watch, too, because cannonballs actually bounce after hitting the ground and plow through troops, and buildings, when hit by cannonballs, will actually crumble and leave a big pile of dust and bricks.  Also, attacking the enemy by surprise with cavalry is pretty hilarious.  At one point, I went behind an enemy squad and into the forest with my cavalry.  I waited for the right moment and flanked them, causing my cavalry to come from behind, knocking guys all over the place and slicing and dicing them with their swords while riding swiftly on their horses.

I also sort of had an interesting moment playing the game last night. My dad was watching me play the demo and I was marching in a straight line towards the enemy just to do a kamikaze and see what would happen. I zoomed down close enough to see the drummer marching diligently and beating his drums. My dad then jokingly said, "I wonder how many times those drummers got 'owned' first?" (because they're up front).

Not ten seconds later, I get so close that the fricking drummer goes banzai on the enemy, yanking out his sword and rushing in, slicing and dicing like it's nobody's business while the rest of the squad is hanging back firing their muskets. I mean, I'm talking going Rambo on their ass - this guy wasn't screwing around! It was like witnessing a heroic moment that would actually come from a war.

Needless to say, it took me a while to stop laughing from that one. Lesson learned: Don't fuck with the drummer boy.

Currently Myst on the PSP.  Its a little bit strange not using a mouse, but its a solid conversion.

Can we please have the rest of the series on the PSP now?

I remember buying that when it was released as a double-pack including Septerra Core, a decent PC RPG.  I liked Septerra Core, but I couldn't get into Shogo.  Right now, I'm on Fallout 3, Street Fighter IV and replaying Dead Space and Metal Gear Solid 3.

That's how I got my copy, too. Septerra Core was pretty good. I was impressed with how all of the major characters had voice acting on a CD ROM game, and the fighting system wasn't too bad from what I remember. If I can find that game, wherever it is in my house, I'll definitely give it another playthrough.

I recently beat Half-Life again. I really can't get over how different it is from the sequel.

Been playing the Battlefield Heroes beta.  Fun little game!  It's going to be free even when it's released, and the soldier customization is awesome.  Plus, you get to customize your weapon loadout, purchase new abilities, and even set in-game "missions" (aka "goals") for yourself which, when completed, earn you points for buying stuff in the shop.

I just got the first Broken Sword game in for the PS1. (excellently animated point&click adventure game)   That's some good stuff.

I decided to finally try to beat Resident Evil 3.   You know,.. this will sound crazy to you all,.. but I like the gamplay in the old RE games more than the RE4 style.

In Saints Row 2,.. I got my character looking just like The Terminator in the first film.  I like to enter the invincible code and go on a terminator rampage now and then.  I even have the original Treminator film score ripped onto the hard drive and have it playing while I assault police stations and the mall.

I'm a retrogamer through and through and I'm currently on the NES emulator. My game addictions of choice are currently Nobunga's Ambition and Friday the 13th. (I can kill Jason all 3 times with all the items in under 25 minutes now.) ALL baseball games for the NES rock too.
