Tonight was an amazing, historic night with Barack Obama winning the presidency.   I'm so happy he won I can't contain myself! :)

Ah, but is he dedicated to his job?  Or is he going to let America down like the last president?

I don't mean to troll because I love this forum, but seriously folks I think as a whole we've been a bit too harsh on Bush. I tend agree 100% with this article:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122584386627599251.html

Goes to show to the world how we treat our own. And that ladies and gentlemen, is embarrassing at the least and utterly despicable at most as an American.

you can't be too harsh on Bush, don't worry, he's perfectly happy living the rest of his days on that Ranch of his

I'm ecstatic that Obama won, a night I'm going to remember for the rest of my life

For me, it signifies a lot of things, but the main thing it means to me is that we're finally ready to move in a new direction in the country.  I've been through a lot since the beginning of Bush's first term.  I graduated high school in 2000, so that was the first election I was able to participate in.  I have to say that in the beginning of Bush's first term (2000-2002), I was rolling off the high the country experienced during the Clinton years.  There was a lot of talk of opportunities. I was starting college, got my first awesome car, next generation video gaming was being born beginning with the PC, Dreamcast, and PS2; met some great people through network marketing, and met a sexy girlfriend (who I was with for 7 years on and off before I met the one I now love).  Life has generally been more and more a bummer pretty much since 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan/Iraq started.  Sure, I've had highs and lows (good jobs, bad jobs, family success, family trajedy, bad relationship, fruit-bearing relationship etc), but the trend has been more in the downward direction as far as way of life is concerned.  I can't blame anyone's administration for me being in college on and off for 8 years going on 10, but I think it's true that you absorb what's around you, and it's hard to ignore the huge amount of negative energy that's been thrown at us for the last 8 years.  Some people respond to it better than others, of course.  I happen to feel I've taken a slow, middle path so far, but seeing what Barack Obama has accomplished truly inspires me to re-focus, and explore my own potential.  So, cheers to everyone out there who may feel the same.  I'm truly filled with hope for a better future where we all take responsibility for ourselves, and help each other along the way.

He hasn't really changed much yet, but it is still early. He's been in office for only a couple of weeks
