So, who finished it? I did and i'm replaying it in Uber now. Its highly replayable and much more "game-y" than most modern shooters. And from a design viewpoint, it doesn't take itself too seriously which is something i like.
The are a couple of negative points (the most prominent is that when you enter an area the enemies are spawned at the exactly the same location, doing exactly the same stuff), but they don't affect the overall experience.
Its far better than Quake 4, the previous game Raven developed for id.

Yeah,.. it's definitely fun. Most people on sites and reviewers bitch and moan because it "does nothing new" and call it a "meh" vanilla shooter.
Since when are all games required to innovate? I swear that gamers and reviewers take games too seriously.

Everyone has their own tastes and such. A review is merely some guy's opinion on the game. If he doesn't like it, it's up to him. It's up to you whether you let that impact your opinion on the game or not.
I haven't picked up Wolfenstein yet - I'm not sure if I want to. I'll probably pick it up for reviews sake, but I can't say I'm overly excited. I like games that try something different - perhaps not innovative, but just different. Companies nowadays are so scared about their games being a flop, they stick to the same recipe to be sure they can make a profitable return, rather than trying something different and risking either making a fortune, or losing a lot of money.
