There are players on the EU-servers every day but  maybe only for 1 out of the 24hours. So you will have to join and be patient or arrange a match.
With the gamebrowser Qtracker you can watch the servers at get a message when someone joins.

I also have a Teamspeak server running that you are welcome to use when you play Daikatana.
The server address is:  daikatana.game-server.cc:8767
No password is needed.
