Daikatana - Custom Resolution, How?

I am about to convert Daikatana into Mac, but i am having one issue left.
I cant get the game to run in widescreen mode.

I have tried to open Daikatana.exe, with an Hexeditor, and changed the lines "1600 x 1200", with "1920 x 1200".
When i launch Daikatana it shows the resolution "1920 x 1200", but its stil 4:3 aspect ratio, even though the resolution is 16:9 widescreen.

How do i get widescreen resolution in Daikatana?

I've tryed to modify it using hex editor. I had my 1.2 exe but I've deleted it...

I edited my 1.2 exe, in an Hex editor, and changed every line that said "1600 x 1200" to "1920 x 1200", but it didnt work.

Well, i found out my self, so now i want to share with you all..


To use widescreen resolutions in Daikatana 1.2 do the following:


The first thing you need to get is an Hex Editor.
For mac,  HexFiend is Great.

Drag the file "daikatana.exe", to your desktop.


Open HexFiend, and locate the Daikatana.exe file on your desktop. Open it.

Start by pressing "CMD+F", to find a line.
Write:     Mode9: 1600
And press Next.

You will now see line 739440 (The line numbers are shown to the left in the window)
The line above 739440, is line 739424.
Find number 00400600, and 00B00400 (Usually next to eachother)

The part "4006", and "B004", and the ones that need to be changed.

8007 is the screen width and B004 is the height.
Change the two numbers (When you press delete, or backspace, it removes 2 digits. Remember that!!!) , into the resolution in the table below:

For example, if i want to change my resolution to 1280 x 720,
ill change 4006 to 0005, and B004 to D002

After you have made your change, save the file, and drag it back into the Daikatana folder. Remember to make a backup of the original Daikatana.exe, if you mess something up.

Yes it works quite nicely

There is a little mismatch between the daikatana menu and using widescreen, so mouse focus and the menu settings (eg, video) are not in sync.

Yeah, I noticed this when I added widescreen to v1.0 through the source code.
