Hey everyone!

I know it's been a while since i've been in the forums - i've been pretty busy. But i believe i'll be in the forums a bit more, soon.

You see, i've been working on a total rework of this site to centralize the tech i use and to also make it look much nicer.

I'm going to be activating the site on Christmas Eve and the new GameTalk forums will be where you start posting anew.

This GameTalk site will be write-disabled but you will all be able to view it whenever you like. We won't lose our history.

I'm not moving current users automatically to the new GameTalk as the user database is massive and i'd rather start with only users that are actually active.

Avatars are handled differently on the new site using the global internet Gravatar.com system.  Simply go to gravatar.com and set up your free account bound to your email address and upload your avatar. When you register your new account on ROME.RO, your email address you specify will link to gravatar.com and be used for all your comments on the site and posts in GameTalk.

I hope you enjoy the new site. I tried to make it appear more professional and polished and now it's all handled with one unified technology that makes it easy to add features.

Have fun and I'll be making an announcement soon where you can find the site. ROME.RO will be mapping to the new site on Christmas Eve.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Sounds good, I'll be sure to register, although I'm not too fond of this:

I prefer to keep the sites I'm registered at to a minimum, and having to register at a third party site just to use an avatar on this one scares me a tad. :(

Unconscious, there's nothing to be afraid of.  If you want to have an avatar only for this one site, you can create a new gmail account, go to gravatar.com and use only that gmail account for your avatar here.

I can still post...and I can't register in the new forums. And still I like this old style much better, sorry. Although I can't read my personal messages and I would like to have access to the old ones. They contained certain info valuable to me. I wasn't here for some time, so I didn't know about the lockdown.
