I just finished the book today and it's great, like I expected.

Even for a french guy like me, it was an easy and addictive reeading experience.

I've been searching for deep info like this for quite some time.  I'm very satisfied.  It gave me the motivation to come back and hang in this forum...I've registered months and months ago, but quitted sometime.

Now, I can finish up the little bio of "id" I wanted to do for the big french website I'm working on.  All of Quebec province and some France guys will have a taste of the greatness of the 2 John !

Thanks to everybody who made this book a success.

Masters of Doom is one of my favorite books and inspired me to take up reading on a more regular basis, although its the story that makes the book such a fine read Kusner's style adds to the reading experience by drawing you and engrossing you in the story which is a very rare skill, as a part in the story hits a low point you feel it and thats a credit to the writer.

I have since read quite a few books to try and get a similar experience to the one i had reading Master's of Doom, Borland and Kings dungeons and dreamers, Steven L. Kents mammoth Ultimate History of video games, Stephen Levy's Hackers, Ste Curran's Game plan and quite a few other's but they didn't quite get there.

I'm currently re-reading the book and not only enjoying it again but i am also gaining an ever increasing appreciation of what was achieved by the people within the story.

Wow, this is an OLD thread!

The Ultimate History of Video Games is an awesome book. Just never ever read Dungeons and Dreamers, because it's the stupidest crap ever (Half the book talks about Richard Gariott, while the last half talks about some old lady who plays Everquest. No joke.)
