Question One:
Was there a reason to Keen's cameo in Doom II where you had to kill him or was it just for laughs?
Question Two:
Does anyone here know of a skinning program for Wolfenstein Enemy Territory? I wanna put Keen in it.

Also,

Hi, I be new. Wee.

Keen was obviously just for a joke. Mabey John has some inside story behind it, but I doubt anything over the top. Mabey he will visit this thread.

Question One: no, it was just for a joke.  But Adrian didn't want to ever do anymore Keen games and wanted to get rid of him. :)  He also did that to the dopefish in Q2 & Q3.

I heard that Tom Hall actually thought of a story reason for killing Keen but he won't tell anyone until he makes another Keen game.

Tom wasn't at id when we put Keen in DOOM II.  He had nothing to do with it.

But if you're talking about somehow his explaining what happened in DOOM II in a future Keen game, who knows.  I've never heard him say that.

I agree.  He also seems to have a great since of humor.  I love how at the end of nearly everything on the hobbies page he puts "It is fun."

Tom Hall rocks 8)

A few years ago, I asked for an autograph of him, and he kindly sent me a picture of himself, with the text "Hey Ben! Tom Hall" (Signed)    awesome 8)

I got that on my wall, next to John's autographed picture (Thanks John! :D, which I got a few years ago before joining the forum) John's picture is 'The Hand' taken around 1993 I think, when he had long hair 8) and its signed, along time ago, I delted the pictures folder by mistake, so i dont have any other copies, ther'e the remaining ones, I dont have a scanner either.

I must also say that Tom rocks.

I never did play a Keen game, but I did play Rise of the Triad. That game rocked.

Here's a list with Commander Keen cameos: A Look Back at Commander Keen.

I think the Keen helmet in Paganitzu cameo is a lie.

You lucky asshole.

I haven't ever got an autograph, nor talked to anyone famous face to face.

I'm so unsuccessful.
